Scared to call them!

I haven't tried to contact these people yet because of everything I have read, but they have my uninsured medical bills from Essentia Health and they have more than doubled what I owe Essentia in the past two months. I have also received the odd phone calls with no one on the line and/or no voice mail messages. It is my belief that their sole purpose is to exaggerate your debt to get you to call them. If they don't hear from you they get away with it? I'm pretty scared to contact them about it. At least I have my original medical debt statements to prove that I only owe $3700-- not $8100!!

They're not that bad...

My problem is with the hospital; they didn't notify me of my "patient responsible" amount for almost a year. By that time, about half of the amount had been transferred to JC Christiansen (the hospital's collection agent). When I found out the situation, I arranged for automatic time payments to the hospital, until that balance was cleared, then switched over to paying JCC (still in progress). JCC's customer service rep was most helpful. She annotated my account to indicate when I would start making payments and, when the hospital was paid off, helped me set up automatic payments to JCC. I have no problem with these people.

JC Christensen And Associates - Deceitful Company Service Review

These people have called me one time from an 859 number and they told me to call them back but gave me an 866 number. They tell me that they have on recording my dad telling me that he threw the debt collection on me but I think there is a problem there!! I would know if my dad decided to do that because he would tell me. I wouldn't know by some stranger telling me about it. They insist on telling you lies of what they have on record and when they first called they wanted to verify an address they had and it was wrong and somewhere I had never lived before! Don't tell these people anything!

These people called me and asked for my SS#!!!!

I got several phone calls while at work (they never call me at home) and when I finally could call them back at first I got a voice mail asking for my "account information", which I do not have. When I pressed 0 about 10 times I finally got a human being. THEN they asked for my social security number! That is NOT going to happen. Instead of robocalling me at work at least have a real person call me at home. If they identified themselves and acted like a real company instead of one trying to bilk people out of their money, they might get more of a response from the people they are calling. However, I will NOT give out my social security to anyone on the phone, regardless of who they are.

Repeat calls

This company has called me several times at work and on my home number. They have left a number and message each time and I have returned their calls twice. Each time they have no record or any information that they called me...weird. They even asked what number they called to reach me. Seems like if I owe them money they would already have that information. I tried to find out more information from them but they were sure not willing to give any details. Not sure what kind of company they are but I certainly would never recomend them to anyone! Definitly not going to deal with them....shysters I think.

Jc Christensen And Associates Debt Collection Review from Fort Lauderdale, Florida

They call the same phone number more than once a day with a recorded message. It is not either one of the people who have the current phone number. When they dial with their recorded message we hang up on them when the recording comes on. This is on going for the last 6 months are more. When do these credit collectors get a clue about an answering machine. How can a person get these people for harassement because they just call back an hour maybe 2 hours later and do the same until 9 p.m. in the evening and we do the same thing We just got the phone number after moving into a new area

Hey there 'BILL-COLLECTIOR' it looks like you're from Sartel, Minnesota.

That's funny...that's where J.C. Christensen & Associates is based out of. :eek

What's wrong, 'BILL-COLLECTIOR'? You don't like the little 'ol consumer fighting back? Huh? Does that put a thorn in your paw there kitty cat? :cry

It looks to me that your office is just pissed that you're despicable and deplorable collection practices are being outted in public like a bad celebrity scandal.

You may want to consider finding a better line of work if you get so frustrated when you're companies faults and illegal practices are brought to light. :)

to the bill collector from minnesota, your a *** and a punk mabey you find out one dayq1wvt

JC christian associates not willing to change billing my account from 2 times a month to once also there bedside manner is horrible, I have been paying and not getting correct correspondance the debt is half of what it was and they say they cannot send a detailed report of each payment from my account, I was broke and they took money from me when they went supposed to when I called they didnt have any record of it but the automated recording relected it correctly, I dont have the income anymore to pay the same rate and they dont care what to do.

Guest

It is against the law to call someone through an auto machine. File a lawsuit "TCPA LAW" Telephone consumer protection Act

FDCPA LAW, they need to put a stop to the harassment

Guest

Dispute the debt, notify them in writing (by registered mail) that you don't want any more telephone calls, then make a record of every occasion that they do attempt to communicate.

... the end. (Oh, and "BILL-COLLECTOR" is obviously special-needs.) :grin

Jc Christensen And Associates Debt Collection Review from Sebeka, Minnesota

I owe a lot of money to a hospital cause of no ins. Now I have these ppl calling me up to 6 times a day, 3 to 4 times a week. I've told them I've been laid off since Feb. & fighting unemployment. I've told them to stop calling, we even hung up on them. They keep calling from 8am to 8pm. What can I do to get them to stop???? One call they ask for hubby, the next one they ask for me. I'm ready to file charges against them if it keeps up. They even wanted me to send proof that I don't receive unemployment. None of there business. But the best part is, they started calling without sending nothing to us in the mail. I even had 2 more surgeries recently and they had the gull to ask if I had health coverage to pay for it.

I receive numerous calls from these people for an outstanding debt. I have tried to rationally explain the situation of no income etc only to hear what CAN I do.

DA I just told you. They threaten judgement, garnishment and legal action. Not sure what they expect to accomplish doing business this way. If I have no income I cannot pay period.

They say they are noting the file as refusal to pay.

My response is that I hope their calls are recorded because I have NOT refused to pay or disputed the debt. My last comment to them is I hope and pray they are never in the similar situation and have someone with no heart address them in this manner :cry

Guest

I haven't even given them the satisfaction of speaking to them. They use a recording and don't even address a certain person.

They call every two days or so. They have called from several different numbers.

I don't even trust these people to be a legitimate company. :(

Guest

I was told by a person that I needed to go to the bank to get a loan to pay a bill less than $1,000.00. I understand that it is my fault for allowing this to go to collections, however, If I can't afford the bill how do you think I can afford a loan from the bank?!?

Then I'm told they don't allow a person to make payments.

Well guess what, I will make payments and stop answering my phone. Let them chew on that for a while

Guest

scam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i asked for proof of debt a guy named seth said since i payed on it 10dollars it went back to the original collection agency and he gave me a number to a mortgage company how i know this is because i googled the number DONT PAY THESE PEOPLE

Guest

J C Christiansen has called me on 20 different numbers, so far. They say I have a debt with a credit card company that I paid on "real good"(their words) from 1994-****, then just quit.

If I quit it was due to not getting anymore statements and thought it was paid. This debt is 14 years old and, if I owed anything else, has been charged off.

They are very rude and told me I could afford to pay over $600/mo to pay them off, even after I told them I don't even make that much on retirement. They told me to get a loan because they need to clear this matter up NOW!

check with the county attorney...some states has a statue of limitations on collections

Guest

i seen on the news all you have to do is send them a letter telling them not to call you and by law they can not call you anymore. im sending a letter to them too telling them not to call me no more

Guest

I am on the auto dialer. I want to call back, but at work its near impossible.

I wish I had a reasonable way to communicate via Mail or EMail. I owe a few banks some money, that I admit.

Still, if its purchased by a collector after its been written off, level with the consumer, say this is the business we are in, and here is an opportunity to resolve this. Instead they brow beat you thinking there is a way to squeeze blood from a dry rock.

Guest

These people are not people, our phone was on speakers, this debt had been taken care of over 15 years ago. However, they kept telling me that I was lieing, being recorded, and so forth.

Why still on speaker, my wife a paralegal started telling them, Nick did not give you permission to record this converstation, and they were inviolation of several laws and a legal formal compliant would be file for them because they misrepercinted themself as an attorny, haressment of a family member who has no debt with them, haressment to the debter, treating jail, etc. They started asking my wife her personal information, to which she replied, You have screwed up, and God Bless and thank you for the laught. Her adviced is you should check on the age of the debt, most old debts have been worte off by the lender and your not responsable any more, and most old debts are junk debt. Request that all future contact be done by mail.

After you requestto be contacted by mail only the debt collection company is no longer allow to contact you by phone. This is a current cusumer law. If they contact you you have a legal right to file with Cusumer Affairs.

We had fun calling the debt collection company backi every hour to let them know the debt was still not going to be payed.

The collection company got really mad becaused we were intruding on their time. Duh, that what you do to the poor people who get calls from you hour after hour.

Guest

They are horrible people. There manner and uncaringness towards people is unbearable.

They are cold and calculating. Almost robotic. They were very intrusive into my life and made me feel very uncomfortable. At one point I asked the gentleman (and I use that word loosely) if I could speak with his manager and when the man got on the phone it sounded exactly like the man I was speaking with initially.

These people are doing there jobs but the have no patience or a conscience. And why should they..they have jobs and they don't care how they treat others who are having financial difficulties during these times.
